Lejeune competition road bike
A Lejeune professional road bike. It was built in the Lejeune manufactory for Criterium racing usage. The owner was getting the bike thanks to its cycle club membership. In our case we can speak about a "Paris manufacturers club connection". However, this road bike stands for the best French handcraft and production capabilities in the early 80s.
The frame is made of 531 Reynolds tubes. Please note that the badge holder on the frame. The badge holder indicates a team bike and a Special Service Courses finishing. As a member of the Lejeune BP Team Lucien Van Impe can be seen on pic's with a similar designed frame.
The Special Service Courses (SSC) stands for a top line product. SSC products are reserved for racing usage. For instance SSC components were not sold by dealers or shops. In our case, the bike has Special Service Courses frame, but no SSC components.
It is equipped withe STC component group with Spidel, Mafac and Stronglight components and a Zeus wheel set.
